Every now and then the advertising industry does some great stuff. This is a case in point.
About a year ago, a youtube video was released of the Tiger Woods PGA 08 game and was showcasing some glitches in the game.

But just recently Electronic Arts have come back at Levinator25 (the author of the first video) with this response

What's interesting to note is that the original video has so far received about 132,000 views. EA's video, in 3 days, has received over 450,000. Great marketing move.

The Rock

Metro

Mrs Doubtfire

Innerspace

The Bachelor

Basic Instinct

40 Days and 40 Nights

TV Shows

Can you believe that video games are also set in San Fran. Gran Theft Auto being one.

And on top some good adverts have also been made there, namely The Bouncing Balls by Sony.

Sure they might have invented the game, and sure they might have the most amount of teams on one tiny island, but if the rest of the world call it soccer....

Anyway, Nike Football have come up with a great campaign. Together with Guy Ritchie they have created a video shot in the first person view of a player being signed for Arsenal and playing against some great players. Its well worth a look.

Take it to the next level - http://www.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikefootball/en__EMEA/index.html

One evening a grandson was talking to his grandmother about current events. The grandson asked his grandmother what she thought about the shootings at schools, the computer age, and just things in general.

The Grandma replied, "Well, let me think a minute, I was born before:
' television
' penicillin
' polio shots
' frozen foods
' photo copying
' contact lenses
' Frisbees and
' the pill

There was no:
' radar
' credit cards
' laser beams
' ball-point pens

Man had not invented:
' pantyhose
' air conditioners
' dishwashers
' tumble dryers
' and the clothes were hung out to dry in the fresh air.

And man hadn't yet walked on the moon.

Your Grandfather and I got married first ... and then lived together.
Every family had a father and a mother.

Until I was 25, I called every man older than me, "Sir". And after I turned 25, I still called policemen and every man with a title, "Sir."

We were before gay-rights, computer-dating, dual careers, daycare centers, and group therapy.
We were taught to know the difference between right and wrong and to stand up and take responsibility for our actions.
Serving your country was a privilege; living in this country was a bigger privilege.

We thought fast food was what people ate during Lent.

Having a meaningful relationship meant getting along with your cousins.

Draft dodgers were people who closed their front doors when the evening breeze started.

Time- sharing meant time the family spent together in the evenings and weekends - not purchasing condominiums.

We never heard of FM radios, tape decks, CDs, electric typewriters, yogurt, or guys wearing earrings.

We listened to the Big Bands, Jack Benny, and the President's speeches on our radios.

And I don't ever remember any kid blowing his brains out listening to Tommy Dorsey.

If you saw anything with 'Made in Japan ' on it, it was junk.

The term 'making out' referred to how you did on your school exam.

Pizza Hut, McDonald's, and instant coffee were unheard of.

We had 5 &10-cent stores where you could actually buy things for 5 and 10 cents.

Ice-cream cones, phone calls, rides on a streetcar, and a Pepsi were all a nickel.

And if you didn't want to splurge, you could spend your nickel on enough stamps to mail 1 letter and 2 postcards.

You could buy a new Chevy Coupe for $600 . . . but who could afford one? Too bad, because gas was 11 cents a gallon.

In my day:
' "grass" was mowed,
' "coke" was a cold drink,
' "pot" was something your mother cooked in and
' "rock music" was your grandmother's lullaby.
' "Aids" were helpers in the Principal's office,
' " chip" meant a piece of wood,
' "hardware" was found in a hardware store and
' "software" wasn't even a word.

And we were the last generation to actually believe that a lady needed a husband to have a baby. No wonder people call us "old and confused" and say there is a generation gap. And how old do you think I am?

I bet you have a really old lady in mind ... you are in for a shock! This woman would be only 60 years old..!

I have good intentions, actually I have great intentions, but this is normally followed by an incredible, nah obscene, bout of procrastination.
Even now, while you probably feel I am not procrastinating, I am.
Let me explain:
I said yes to a small project for the office. A small site which would give new starters and old timers some information about the office, let them know who the good people to know are and important telephone numbers. This was meant to be finished by January this year, but as you can guess, it's not. I had the Easter weekend to complete it and didn't manage that, so here I sit doing it now. Except I am not.
This is where my procrastination comes in. I am procrastinating by doing other work. I find other things to do instead of what I am meant to be doing. I procrastinate by thinking. I procrastinate by organising my mp3 collection. I even procrastinate by tiding my room. Now anyone who knows me, anyone who has visited my flat can testify that I am not a tidy person and that the only time my room get tidied is when a girl is coming round to visit. So why is tiding more attractive than coding. Why is tiding my room more exciting that building something?
Because I have procrastinated for soooo long on this project and because I am feeling guilty,
I will probably sit here all night and code. Get it done for sure, but I am currently wasting at least an full 30 minutes writing this blog entry.

Why?

as the title says Who Knows?
But why does that matter, well mainly because its the "be all" place for advertising and the best place to see the worlds best advertising.

I am toying with the idea of calling in sick for the next two days and jetting off.
Delegate fees might be a slight set back. I believe that they cost in the region of £3000 per person, or something utterly ridiculous like that.

Anyway, Taxi here, go to go. More later.

So I suppose I should tell people what I have been up to.
One thing is for sure, I haven't been updating this blog. But I will try. It's just very hard when most days are spent on the beach. Well actually thats a lie, most days are spent working, while watching the beach and mountain.

Hmm, lets try catch up from Jan.
Jan 1 - 6th was in knysna with the family. Most days were spent waking up early, going for a ski, trying wakeboarding and then lying on the lawn all day reading while waiting for the afternoon to go ski again. Although I should point out that we are incredibly picky when it comes to when to ski. If the water is not like glass, well we don't stick a toe in the water.

6th Jan to 24th: Cape Town: Living the life of luxury. Basically doing a little bit of work here and there. Driving around in a Freelander. spending the early afternoons taking the dogs for a walk on the beach, and not wearing shoes. As they say in Kommetjie (where I am staying) I have been "verKommed" which basically means, living life easily.

25th Jan drove up to Johannesburg or Jozi. Awesome drive. Countryside that seems to go on forever and ever. Complete opposite from the UK. Specially London.

26th Jan. After getting lost in Jozi and having to get my cousin to come and find me, I went to the airport to pick up my dad. JHB is just tooo big and toooo many cars, billboards and taxis.

Spent the day with my Dad, doing a little shopping and then had a braai with my aunt and cousin and the other halves. Very cool.

Flew back to CPT on 27th and then drove up to Kynsna on the 2nd of Feb to suprise my gran for her 86th birthday. We got delayed en-route and therefore had to meet them in George.
Actually suppose should tell the whole story here.

So my gran is in her eighties, and she looks forward to the times that her family come and visit.
So after everyone left in Jan, my aunt was going to suprise her for her birthday and fly down to Kynsna, but she decided to tell Elvis (our nickname for my gran) so that Elvis would have something to look forward to. What she didn't tell was that her daughter, Kyle, was also going to fly down. As well as the two of them Geoff, his girlfriend and myself we also going to be there.
Sonja, Geoff's g/f was in JHB to see her parents and she was going to fly into George and we were going to pick her up, without Elvis and Bar, who would be picking up Kylie, seeing us.
As I said, Geoff and I were delayed en-route and so Bar had to pickup Sonja aswell as Kylie. She then told Elvis that they were picking up Sonja, because her uncle was late, and could not make it to the airport, and that they should keep Sonja company until her uncle arrived. They were actually waiting till Geoff and I arrived, which we did, and supprised my Gran. I walked in, and in a loud voice, asked it this seat was taken. When my Gran turned around, she had the biggest smile on her face. It was all worth it.

And so onto today, where I am back in Cape Town, sitting here typing this instead of working. And now back to work.
